Meet Kacy, Your Compassionate Counselor

Welcome! I'm Kacy Latham, the owner of Wholeheart Counseling, PLLC. As an LPC-Associate and a dedicated counselor in Texas, my goal is to help others reclaim their core sense of self and regain purpose, autonomy, and peace.  Whether you're dealing with domestic abuse, childhood trauma, religious abuse, or lingering symptoms like depression and anxiety, I will listen and we will figure it out together. Through our work,  we'll explore your experiences, build resilience, and find the strength to move forward. You're not alone on this journey, and your story deserves a compassionate witness who helps you recognize how capable and free you can be.

Healing from Relational Trauma

Identify Toxic Patterns

Recognizing patterns, cycles, and causes of coercive and controlling behaviors is a top priority for our work together. Often, we find ourselves desensitised to toxic attitudes and behaviors because it feels "normal." As a therapist, I will guide you in identifying these recurring patterns and the underlying motives so that you can protect your reality. I will provide psychoeducation so that you can analyze and observe interactions with healthy sense of detachment and wisdom. With this expanded and informed perspecti,ve you will be able to cultivate more effective communication, set appropriate boundaries, and protect your inner world more effectively.

Discover Your True Self

Gaining deep self-knowledge is a transformative journey that empowers you to understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors on a profound level. Through therapy, we will explore your past experiences, values, and belief systems to uncover the essence of who you are. This process involves introspection, reflection, and sometimes confronting uncomfortable truths about yourself. By gaining insight into your motivations and triggers, you will develop a clearer sense of identity and purpose. Embrace Your Emotions

 One consequence of being in an unhealthy relationship is that it can cause us to abandon ourselves. When our nervous system is hijacked by fear, we learn to ignore our emotions and bury our feelings. Reconnecting with your feelings is a vital step toward self-awareness and healing. As a therapist, I encourage you to take the time to explore and understand your emotions. This journey involves acknowledging both the positive and negative feelings you experience, creating a safe space for them to surface. By practicing mindfulness and emotional check-ins, you can learn to embrace your feelings rather than fear them.  Every individual possesses unique inner wisdom that often gets drowned out by other pressures in our environment.  Learning to trust this inner voice is crucial for personal growth and decision-making. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to help you identify and cultivate this inner guidance through self-reflection and intuitive exercises. By recognizing your instincts and honoring your feelings, you can empower yourself to make choices that align with your true self. Trusting your inner wisdom allows you to navigate life with confidence, clarity, and authenticity, leading to plan for a future that aligns more closely with who you are.

Radical self-respect is about honoring and valuing yourself unconditionally. It involves recognizing your worth and setting boundaries that protect your mental and emotional well-being. In our sessions, we will explore what self-respect means to you and how to integrate it into your daily life. This practice encourages you to challenge negative self-talk, embrace self-compassion, and prioritize your needs without guilt. By cultivating radical self-respect, you not only improve your self-esteem but also create a healthier dynamic in your relationships, allowing you to engage with others from a place of strength and authenticity.

 In a world that often encourages self-sacrifice, prioritizing yourself can feel foreign yet essential. It’s important to understand that self-care is not selfish; rather, it’s a necessary foundation for your overall well-being. During our work together, we will identify areas in your life where you may be neglecting your own needs and explore ways to make yourself a priority. This could involve setting aside time for hobbies, nurturing supportive relationships, or simply allowing yourself to rest. By prioritizing yourself, you will cultivate a deeper sense of fulfillment, resilience, and joy, enabling you to show up fully for yourself and those you love.

Unfortunately, I cannot take insurance at this time. This could be an option in the future. 

Session Fees & Rates

My current rate is $75 per individual session. I do have sliding scale options for special cases.
